King’s Daughters Medical Specialties (KDMS)
is an integrated system of medical specialist and primary care physicians designed to provide an avenue for physician recruitment, retention, and employment. KDMS provides access to information technology, provides leadership and direction in a rapidly transforming healthcare environment with changing payer demands. The goals of KDMS include the delivery of quality service which provides value to the patient, the payer and the King’s Daughters Health System.
Our growing family of medical specialty offices associated with King’s Daughters Medical Center includes:
- Colorectal surgery - Mariano Faresi, M.D., is the first colorectal surgeon to practice in this region. As a colorectal surgeon he uses surgical and non-surgical methods to treat colon and rectal problems.
- Endocrinology - Prasanna Santhanam, M.D., and Hazel Yang, M.D., diagnose diseases that affect your glands. They are trained to treat hormonal imbalances and associated conditions by helping to restore the normal balance of hormones in your system.
- Family medicine - Hassan Abul-Khoudoud, M.D., Mark Detherage, M.D., and William Short, M.D., are trained to take care of the health of all patients from children to adults. They provide continuing care for the individual and family across all diseases and parts of the body.
- Gastroenterology - Morris Beebe, M.D., and Arthur Gaing, M.D., are involved with the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, including the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, pancreas, liver, gallbladder and biliary system.
- Nephrology - Jeannie Co, M.D., James Egel, M.D., Donald Hammonds, D.O., Jonathan Kendall, M.D., Jerry W. Lockard, D.O., Ryann Pangan, M.D., Charbel Salem, M.D., are trained to diagnose and treat kidney diseases, and manage the care of patients requiring renal replacement therapy, including dialysis.
- Neurology - Pramit Bhasin, M.D., Doug Deitch, M.D., Kathryn Guggenheim, M.D., and Jill Kimm, M.D., focus on the medical diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders of the nervous system, including the central, peripheral and autonomic nervous systems, including their coverings and blood vessels.
- Neurosurgery - Clark Bernard, M.D., and Ondrej Choutka, M.D., specialize in the surgical care of diseases and disorders of the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves and related structures.
- Orthopedic surgery - As an orthopedic surgeon, Kevin Kulwicki, M.D., is able to treat most musculoskeletal problems including arthritis and trauma using both surgical and non-surgical methods.
- Otolaryngologist (ENT) - Greg Baker, M.D., is trained in the medical and surgical management of diseases and disorders of the ear, nose, throat (ENT) and related structures of the head and neck.
- Physical medicine - Scott Akers, M.D., and Diana Hussain, M.D., specialize in restoring optimal function to people with injuries or illnesses to the muscles, bones, tissue and nervous system. Their goal is to decrease pain and enhance performance without surgery.
- Plastic and reconstructive surgery - W. Bryan Rogers III, M.D., understands area residents and their cosmetic and reconstructive needs. He specializes in a variety of cosmetic/reconstructive solutions, including breast augmentation, reduction and restorative reconstruction, facial procedures/face lifts, body contouring surgeries after dramatic weight loss, tummy tuck, liposuction, Botox and hair restoration.
- Pulmonary and critical care - Scott Nelson, M.D., Gregory Stark, M.D., and Bjorn Thorarinsson, M.D., are devoted to the care, diagnosis and treatment of lung conditions and diseases; however they also are skilled in internal, critical care and sleep medicines.
- Urology - William Boykin, M.D., Timothy Dixon, M.D., James M. Krick, D.O., and Charles Thorndyke, M.D., specialize in diseases of the male and female urinary tract and the male reproductive organs.
